Peacock Collection

PEACOCKS

are one of the largest flying birds. Male peafowl is called a peacock while female is called peahen. Their length (including tail) can reach 5 feet.  

 

Habitat:

Forest or rain forest;

lives in India, Pakistan, Burma,

Sri Lanka and Africa.

Diet:

They actively hunt insects like ants, crickets and termites; millipedes; and small mammals.

 

Lifespan: 

about 20 years (in the wild)

Did You Know:

They don't have to be killed for their feathers. Luckily, the peacocks shed their train every year after mating season, so the feathers can be gathered and sold without the birds coming to any harm.
